week 13 Sept 29, 2014

Oi, Familia!!!
So it's already week 13 of my mission and the start of my third transfer! I can't believe how the time is flying by. I don't have a whole lot of time to write today but I will do my best to write quickly. So this week was the last week of the transfer and we actually had a baptism today!! Our investigator that I wrote about last time, Veronica, was baptized. It was so amazing but so hectic because we forgot to bring a baptismal suit for her but amazingly enough, Elder Martinez felt that he should bring two even though he only needed one and it fit her perfectly. We were so suprised. Then the member that the bishop has chosen to baptize her didn't show up so we were freaking out because we didn't know who was going to baptize her but then amazingly enough somebody else came and was able to baptize her. It truly was a miracle. The spirit was there so strong and when she came out of the water she said "Caraka!" It was so funny.
Friday we also had a crazy morning. In the morning, right before personal study we started hearing a noise kind of like a blow dryer. We all ignored it though because we thought it was coming from a different level of our apartment but then Sister Pitts walked out to the kitchen and yelled, "Our house is flooding, our house is flooding!!" So we all ran out there and there was like an inch of water in our kitchen and it was starting to flood the rest of the house. So 2 of us tried to control the water leaking out and the other two tried to figure how to shut the water off. We got it shut off and called one of the casals since the president and his wife were on a different island. We mopped up all the water will towels and buckets and then they came and fixed the sink. One of the pipes had broke and the pressure caused it to start spraying out. It was crazy but I'm glad they were able to get it fixed.
Sister Murri also went home this week. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with her here so they told her to go try and get better in the States and maybe she can come back. She was really sad to go but she is going to try to get better and come back.
I can't believe it's already almost October. Happy early birthday to Kyle!!!! I hope it's good! We had transfers yesterday and only Sister Pitts from our apartment is leaving. It was so funny because she dies in two transfers to we were all expecting her to go to another island but she will be whitewashing the area next to mine and Sister Ferreira's and training! She was so upset. Her area used to be elders but now it will be a sister area. She has to move apartments even though it's only 5 minutes away. Sister Valenzuela's new companion will be Sister Brock. They will be Sister Training Leaders together. She already got here and is so nice! We also get 14 more sisters today and tomorrow for the training conference and the trainers and the greenies. Our house is going to be so crazy. We only have two bathrooms too so we will see how this will go haha.
I love you all and hope you are doing great! I wrote some letters this week and plan on mailing them tomorrow after district meeting! Stay awesome!
Com muito amor,
Sister Brown
